It’s free. Unless you want to extend it.
It’s got a LOT of users in the community.
It’s easy to use.
It talks to lots of other services (RSS, Atom, OpenID, YouTube, GoogleVideo, etc…)
It’s portable – outgrow it, and you can take your stuff with you.





Here are two other reasons to use WordPress.
1. There are many plug-ins and templates that you can use.
2. It is possible to collaboratively build content with people anywhere. We build courses together with academics who can be sitting at the other side of the world.
